One of the major factor which all the people who wish to bring change keep in mind is that change is a gradual phenomenon and it requires a great deal of perseverance to bring change. Most of us out of our youthful vigor, and the pride of knowledge and power think that things would happen instantly.
Islam is a religion that pays great emphasis on ethics, and when it comes to ethics, perseverance and patience are one of the greatest ethical virtues. Every Muslim scholar whether of any Islamic school or Holy Quran online tutoring academy, teaches the students regarding the benefits of perseverance and patience.
In one of His hadiths, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Calmness and patient deliberation is from Allah and haste is from Satan.” (Tirmidhi)
From this hadith of Prophet (PBUH) two things can be deduced, first is that patience is a blessing of Allah Almighty and secondly, one second is that haste comes from Satan.
Throughout the history if one sees the people who were close to Allah Almighty, they all possessed the virtue of patience and none of them was either impatient of violent. The greatest example of it can be seen in the character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was a paragon of patience and perseverance, He never made haste, or responded everyone with hatred or revenge, rather He was always patient and this patient is what made Him forgive others and make the wise decision in calamities.
The other thing that this hadith of Prophet (PBUH) denotes is the fact that haste and impatience comes from Satan. If the history of Satan be viewed, then the thing that led to his fall was his impatience accompanied with his pride. It was his impatience that let him not ponder over the wisdom of Allah Almighty and he hastily refused to prostrate in front of Adam. Thus, his haste and impatience caused him to fall from the higher pedestal.
In short, patience and perseverance are the greatest of ethical virtues, in order to succeed in this life and the world hereafter, one must not become impatient and always remain patience and calm in matters of turmoil, and the help of Allah Almighty will surely arrive.
